Election night, whoop whoop! This is one of my favorite nights. I'd forgotten how much I love politics and election results. Seeing the states tick in one by one is so exciting and unnerving. Watching the Bush-Kerry election results come in was an exciting night turned a hugely discouraging night, and we're still paying for it today. Hopefully this year will come off better.
I cast my vote for Barack Obama earlier today on my way to work. It was a great feeling, and hopefully others are doing it as well. Too many elections have shown one candidate to be leading significantly and then ended up with the other candidate taking the reigns, and that can't happen this time. Clearly, we need change. And I hope if Obama is elected, people, both in the U.S. and internationally, will start believing in us again.
So tonight, no watch parties for me. Just a couch, some pajamas, some french onion dip, maybe a Dr. Pepper or two and the ABC News team (I don't have cable right now so it's just me and the networks). Perfection.
Obama '08!

Can you vote in NY? If so, you're so damn lucky. Mississippi will go red, of course, and who knows if my absentee vote will count. Damn voting regulations.
