It took Meghan, her parents and I about 45 minutes to get out to Bushwick in Brooklyn, where the gallery sets up shop, but it was well worth the trip. Afterward, we grabbed some grub at the Life Cafe near the Morgan Avenue L train stop, which ended up keeping us in Bushwick until after 11:30, which ended up forcing us to ride the shuttle bus to the Lormier L stop because the train is down for track work this (and every?) weekend. Jenny's dad, in town for the event, was really enthused about that.
But regardless of the travel times and shenanigans, the night was a huge, crowded, wine and Dr. Pepper-filled success. Tons of our friends came out to support arguably our most successful posse member so far, including a surprising number of parents and siblings (at least seven family members of friends appeared throughout the night!).
As I say in the video, this is the first of many showings of Jenny's work we'll all be attending over the years. Except one day soon all the art on the walls will be hers, and she'll be making a bajillion dollars selling her work. You could buy some now, if you want. She's kind of the shit.
Yeah....I just LOLed. Dance break. Brilliant.
