This is the First Day of My Life

I've been meaning to post about this amazing day that my friends and I had last Sunday, where we basically ran around downtown Manhattan for twelve hours and basked in the glory of New York. It was one of those hazy days that you don't really remember but will never forget. We went places, we were young and beautiful, we did things, but it was like we were floating above ourselves watching it all happen. We took photos and video and ran in the streets like wild children. We were up, we were down, we climbed things and we lounged and we just lived, without inhibitions. I dont remember there being people on the street. It was just us.

How I felt that day can be summed up in one epic photograph that Jenny took:

Theshit.com, right? Live love life. And there are plenty more where that came from. See this slideshow below for jealousy-educed stomach pangs.

There was another day about this time back in 2007 at Double Decker, an arts festival in my college town. See the same people, roaming the streets of Oxford, Mississippi, in baby-faced bliss.

Oh life. What did I do to deserve you?

  1. The first slideshow is so badass and the second is too adorable for words.
